LISTE – The Young Art Fair
Our fair is designed to introduce new internationally active galleries representing contemporary young artists. This forum, with its reasonable prices, offers young art the opportunity to participate in the most important international art fair week and to be involved in the international art scene. The LISTE is a complement to Art Basel. Our fair features primarily young, non-established artists and young galleries, most of whom will be shown for the first time in Basel. In order to ensure that a large number of new galleries are able to present at the LISTE, we generally limit participation to 3-4 years.
With the fair’s expansion in 2006, an opportunity was created for galleries wishing to extend their participation and also galleries older than 5 years seeking first-time participation.

Deadline
The deadline for applications for the LISTE 16 will be in January 2011 (date to be announced).

Decision
The decisions of the selection committee will be announced by latest at the end of February, 2011.

Criteria for participation
Our concept distinguishes between two groups of galleries:

1. Galleries that are not older than 5 years at the time of initial participation / galleries that are participating for the 2nd or 3rd time at the LISTE.

• new galleries not older than 5 years at initial participation
• internationally oriented gallery program
• primarily young, contemporary artists in the gallery’s program

2. Galleries which have participated in the LISTE more than 3 times / galleries older than 5 years at the time of initial participation / galleries which have already participated in another art fair in Basel.

• internationally oriented gallery program
• primarily young, contemporary artists in the gallery’s program
• present only young, relatively unkonwn artists at the LISTE

Selection Criteria
• Gallery’s program
• Selection of artists to exhibit at the fair
• Project submitted for presentation at the fair
• Any previous presentations at the LISTE as well as at other international art fairs
• The gallery’s work as well as its collaboration with the artists it represents

Our fair features primarily young, non-established artists; thus, those artists presenting in Switzerland for the first time are particularly prized by the jury, and this aspect is considered an important selection criterion.

Service of the LISTE
Participation in the LISTE guarantees galleries the following services (among others):

• Rental of exhibition space of approx. 25-30m2 including lighting, partitions, labeling of booth, cleaning of booth, one table, two chairs
• Fair organization and administration, including special shows, tours, etc.
• PR and marketing
• Comprehensive services for exhibitors and visitors
• Catalogue with articles about and pictures by the gallery’s artists
• Appearance on our homepage with links to the gallery’s homepage
• Assistance with securing accommodations at reasonable prices
• Ads in over 85 of the most important international art magazines, with total circulation of 1.5 million and appearances in up to 10 online art magazines
• Brochures, postcards, stickers, posters
• PR campaign, professional press releases
• Invitation with fair pass for collectors and museum people (international)
