Juliette Lena Hager, Polyrhythmic composition for a pending wish, 2025, Courtesy of the Artist and 243 Luz

In her presentation, Juliette Lena Hager interrogates the methods used by cultural institutions in the making and presentation of historical facts. An installation of a diorama reconstructs the space where the re-hanging of a tapestry reproduction of Pablo Picasso’s Guernica painting took place at the UN Headquarters in 2022, after it had been removed for “curatorial purposes” for multiple years. The diorama re-stages, not the space itself, but the moment in space as presented by the institution. In other words, a re-staging of a staged action.
