Fiker Solomon’s current body of work explores her relationship to the natural environment through her lived, embodied experience. Using textile installations and tapestries, she investigates how place is felt, remembered, and reimagined. Her practice highlights the quiet interplay between ecological systems and emotional landscapes, prioritizing intuitive and relational ways of knowing over fixed or cartographic frameworks, and subtly gestures toward a decolonial understanding of place.

Fiker Solomon (b. 1995) is an Ethiopian textile artist currently based in Kampala, Uganda. She holds a BA in Fine Arts and Design from the Alle School of Fine Arts and Design in Addis Ababa, and recently presented her debut solo exhibition, From Addis to Kampala: A Sensory Geography, at Afriart Gallery in Kampala.
