Coulisse presents a duo exhibition with Julia Kowalska (b. 1998, Poland) and Katarzyna Przezwańska (b. 1984, Poland). Their works reshape mythic figures—warriors, lovers, witches, Liliths, and Eves—through an ecological and corporeal lens. Przezwańska’s sculptures draw on organic and geological matter, while Kowalska’s paintings circle the shell and fragmented body. Flesh, stone, and symbol meet in shifting forms, where myth and matter remain mutable.
Katarzyna Przezwańska (b. 1984, Warsaw) lives and works in Warsaw. Her sculptural practice merges organic materials with references to classical form. Recent exhibitions include the Polish Pavilion, Venice Architecture Biennale (2025); Kunsthalle im Lipsiusbau, Dresden (2022); National Museum, Warsaw (2024). In 2019 she presented a solo project at Art Basel Statements.
Julia Kowalska (b. 1998, Poland) lives and works in Warsaw. MFA Painting, Academy of Fine Arts, Warsaw (2022). Her paintings explore the fluid female gaze, desire and bodily ambivalence through sensual, dreamlike imagery. Recent exhibitions include G Gallery, Seoul; The Hole, Los Angeles (2025). Upcoming group presentation, Frieze Seoul (2026). Works held in private collections globally, Krupa Foundation and Folta Collection.
