For Liste 2026, Maximillian William will present an installation by Houston-based artist Jaylon Israel Hicks, his first in Europe. Blending politics with personal narrative, Hicks takes a keen interest in the nuances of medium and materiality in a practice that spans sculpture, painting and photography. For Liste, Hicks will present a large-scale installation accompanied by a smaller sculpture, conjuring a resonant space between immaterial ideas and their conversion into sculptural form.

Jaylon Israel Hicks (b. 1993) is an American conceptual artist based in Houston, Texas. Recent solo presentations include Marc Selwyn Fine Art, Los Angeles, and Maximillian William. Hicks will be included in Made in Texas at The University of Texas in Autumn 2026. His work addresses globalisation and waste with a focus on the Anthropocene's self-destructive tendencies.
