'Rituals of Retrievals and Resistance' is a solo exhibition by Sri Lankan artist Chathuri Nissansala for Liste 2026, presenting sculptural, textile, bead-based works, and a new live performance. Rooted in Sri Lanka's civil war legacy, her practice explores memory, labor, and resilience through worn fabrics, thread, and domestic objects. Meticulous layering and repetitive beadwork transform personal and collective histories into a poetic, tactile language of endurance, care, and collective healing.

Chathuri Nissansala (b.1993, Colombo) is a multidisciplinary artist working across performance, painting, sculpture, and graphics. Her practice explores gender, class, queerness, and nationalism in Sri Lanka. She holds a BFA from Chitra Kala Parishath and an MFA from MSU Baroda, and is a 2024-2026 Resident at the Rijksakademie, Amsterdam.
