Iwo Panasiewicz, Ghost Train I, 2026, Courtesy of Iwo Panasiewicz and Piktogram
The front of the stand is obscured by a semi-transparent wall of clear cellular polycarbonate panels on a lightweight structure. Upon entering, one could see drawings on the walls. The main theme is a train station, a maze of corridors, and travelers.
The structure, with its wall of semi-transparent industrial material and entrance, resembles a shelter—a public transport stop —covered with crude graffiti, scratched with a sharp object, conveying an incomprehensible message.
All works will be created especially for this occasion, along with a site-specific installation.
Iwo Panasiewicz (b. 1997) lives and works in Krakow, Poland. He studied at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp and at the Academy of Fine Arts (Design Faculty, Animation and Computer Games studio) in Katowice. His works were exhibitated at the MoMA Warsaw, Zacheta National Art Gallery, and Gdansk City Gallery.
As a teenager, he taught himself 3D programmes and designed computer games and virtual spaces. He spent a lot of time in abandoned hovels, scribbling on the walls. At university, he studied computer graphics, animation and interactive design. He was also involved in film post-production. In addition to experience with new technologies, he has worked on construction sites.
At some point he decided to abandon new technologies and radically move into the analogue realm – he reduced his tools to pencil and paper, building crude and ascetic sceneries.
