Shown at Liste, ssspacespace presents Unstable Grounds, a compelling exploration of spatial politics featuring Taiwanese artists Teyu Wang and Sara Wu. Treating the booth as an active medium, Wang’s site-responsive inflatable structures radically reshape its volume into a breathing environment. In dialogue with this, Wu employs images and sculpture to interrogate how everyday forms regulate our being. The booth space thus becomes an active field where visitors are invited to physically inhabit the artwork. Read together, their practices resonate with Taiwan’s geopolitical ambiguity, offering a nuanced reflection on the dynamics of space and power.

Sara Wu (b. 1994 in Taiwan) is an artist based in Taipei working across photography, sculpture, and installation. Her practice examines overlooked moments from daily life through observation and the annotation of lived experience. Her work has received awards from the Parallel Photo Platform and the Taipei Art Awards, and has been exhibited at Künstlerhaus Bethanien in Berlin, the Royal Society of Sculptors in London, and the National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts. She recently co-founded the artist-run independent space, ss space space, with artist Sean Tseng.

Teyu Wang is an artist whose practice explores spatial perception and the existential condition of human presence through minimal forms and materials. Since 1995 she has presented more than twenty solo exhibitions and participated in international exhibitions including the Taipei Biennial at the Taipei Fine Arts Museum, Promenade in Asia at Art Tower Mito, the Yokohama Triennale, the Taiwan Biennial, KENPOKU ART, Phenomena of the Mind at the Museum of Contemporary Art Busan, Sinnesrausch – Art and Movement in Linz, and the Setouchi Triennale.
