Burki graduated from the National College of Arts, Lahore in 2003 and received a Postgraduate Diploma from the Royal Academy of Arts, London in 2010.
Since 2004, his works have been exhibited at various international art fairs, galleries, and institutions including: Folds of Belonging – Curated by Tess Maunder, Hutton Lane, Brisbane, Australia / SOCIAL CALLIGRAPHIES, Zachęta – National Gallery of Art, Warsaw, Poland – Curated by Magda Kardasz with Magdalena Komornicka / Gwangju Biennale, Gwangju, South Korea / Dhaka Art Summit, Dhaka, Bangladesh / GallerySKE, Bangalore, India / Carré D’Art, Nîmes, France / LISTE, Basel, Switzerland / Artissima, Turin, Italy.
He will be showing at Göteborg International Biennial for Contemporary Art (GIBCA) in September 2017, curated by Nav Haq.
