Exhibited at Liste Art Fair Basel:
Martin Aagaard Hansen
Exhibited at Liste Showtime Online:
Martin Aagaard Hansen (b. 1988 in Odense, Denmark) lives and works in Copenhagen. Amongst his sprawling painted underworlds, Martin often depicts solitary figures scurrying across the scenes, a nod to his own sense of searching with brush and etching needle in hand. His paintings spiral, patterns repeating in on themselves like endlessly flowing mazes. Nova Jiang ((b. 1985, Dalian, China) lives and works in Los Angeles. In her multifaceted practice—which includes painting, sculpture, conceptual art, installation, and public art—Los Angeles-based artist Nova Jiang attempts to bridge the natural world with the fantastic, teasing uncanny narratives out of a wide variety of materials. Many of Jiang’s object-based installations are made in collaboration with specialists from tech and science and rely on viewer engagement to activate public spaces. Her painting practice, on the other hand, is a solitary undertaking that draws on older traditions of art making, from portraiture, to Dutch still lifes, to Impressionism and Surrealism. Agnieszka Polska (b. 1985, Lublin, Poland) lives and works in Berlin. Agnieszka Polska makes video works that transpose found footage. She'll often animate or heighten the existing imagery, altering the primary context, investigating the limits and impacts of documentation on its future reception.
